The Poetry Society held a party at Douglas Yacht Club to celebrate 25 years of the Poetry Society. The event was attended by over 40 people and the guests were entertained by music from Dickie Kelly, Muriel Garland read Roly Drower's poem The Stand Off *, the guests were also treated to a poem from the 10th Manx Bard Jordanne Kennaugh. The evening was enhanced by an excellent table quiz devised by Sarah Lockyer with literary and other mind stretching questions together with a quiz on anagrams of London Tube stations provided by Hilda Sethna's daughter. The celebration cake was baked and decorated by Society Chairman Bethany de Legh-Runciman. A raffle raised £176 for Isle Listen, this charity was chosen as Hazel Teare's daughter is running the Chicago marathon to raise funds for them.
