An encouraging and safe space for all - new and experienced poets welcome!
IOM Poetry Society Pop-ins are held monthly from 7.30pm to 9.30pm
in The Archibald Knox Pub (Onchan) meeting room.
Meetings comprise of sitting around the table and listening to poets reading their own poems, or those of others. There is only positive feedback and no obligation to read, you can just come and listen, no pressure! It is an informal and chilled evening with cake at breaktime, and drinks can be bought at the bar.
The Next Poetry Popin has been hijacked to celebrate National Poetry Day 2026.
The usual Poetry Popin meeting is now in two halves, the first half is a mixture of reading and listening to our poems. There is then a break for cake etc. The second half will give poets the opportunity to get detailed line by line constructive feedback on a poem in progress. If you would like to bring a poem to get feedback then please email me with a copy of the poem and I will bring enough copies for the others to read and comment on. We can fit 1 or 2 poet's poems within the time.
For more information about the Poetry Society and meetings, the Chairperson can be contacted at: [email protected].
